Hell in a Cell 2016 (30/10/2016)

Rusev vs Roman Reign:
This match had high potential long before the bell even rung because Rusev was shown as the only male heel who was not afraid of the steel cell around the four-sided ring in the three stipulated matches. High hopes were kept by the writers on Rusev to deliver. You could also hear the audience chanting "Let's go Rusev, Rusev sucks' chants, which shows that the crowd would love to see Rusev as a face and Roman as a heel. I personally would love to see how writers can depict Rusev's Russian character as a face. Similar chants were heard for Roman too. The crowd was hyped and was completely behind this match. Lita comparing her past stints as a valet for tag teams and getting involved in the hell in cell matches with Lana's presence at ringside could have given a  push for Lana in terms of being a wrestler had the writers realised her potential. I would love to see Lana fight. She has certainly shown good mic skills till now. Setting up the stairs on the top rope is obviously a vulnerable position and it's supposed to be an instrument of the end game. Rusev responding to the crowd and fakingly to bring out the table was innovative on his end and applauds to him for that.  Rusev had Roman in a chained Accolades, but Roman got out of it. The writers are making Romans indomitable. This may also mark an end to the feud. Still, I am waiting for the writers to play the "Roman as Heel" card soon. Rusev gave his best. I hope, he passed the test thrown by the writers. He certainly impressed the crowd. :)

Bayley vs Dana Brooke:
The crowd was chanting "Boring, boring" last Monday during the arm wrestling match between Bayley and Dana. I had hoped, Dana builds her character as a great wrestler and a heel through this match, but I couldn't get enough of her. The corkscrew dive by Bayley was beautiful. But Dana not getting a longer match was little disappointing, though.

Chris Jericho's List of Jericho segment is always fun and putting Mick Foley for one more time has just become a habit for him.

Gallows-Anderson vs Big Cass-Enzo:
Cass and Enzo doing the "sawft" talks was as always interesting and understanding it was quite 'studdish'. Gallows and Anderson showed a nice combination outside the ring while changing the phase of the game when Gallows attacked Enzo. The match was nice. I still expect the Lazy Smarks to be more vocal for Anderson and Gallows. The heels have kept on showing some spontaneous and eye-pleasing transitions between their moves.

Seth Rolins vs Kevin Owens:
The Man vs KO match held a lot of hopes to be a gold nugget of  a match. Seth getting launched into the cell by KO was quite an eye-catching leap. Similar Holy Shit moments were KO's wrecking ball on the Architect onto the steel case, the fast Kick-Superkick-Ensugiri-Clothesline segment was surely quite brusque. The setting up of the tables was quite innovative and kudos to the writer for this and KO set up the tables beautifully. The crowds' anticipation of an upcoming table-breaking moment led to "This is awesome" chants which were "Good for business". The referee getting blinded in that no-DQ match, the opening of the cell door and Jericho entering the cell: the match was then perfectly poised. Jericho got a pedigree for the fourth time in front of his best friend -  a nice point for Jericho to dwell upon in later days. The in-air turned frog splash by Rolins was perfect. This match was full of great moments with Jericho getting a nice beat up, KO taking a fall through the tables and the friendship still up and running between the best of friends is a nice story line. The WWE universe has to wait for long for the fissure of the band. Jericho's statement move , the Cold Breaker, on Rolins, may provide them with a good feud in the coming days. And KO will get a new feud, which is coooool.

TJP vs Kendric:
The handcuffing segment could have been cleaner. That's a minor fault in part of Kendric which was not expected considering both wrestlers being so experienced and good wrestlers. Cheers for the writers to put that segment and perhaps they asked for more considering so less time Kendric had to execute that segment. TJP's jump over the rope, Kendric's power kicks, both wrestlers' fast transition to their submission moves (the captain's hook and the knee bar) and the end  section - the crocodile tears of Brian Kendric were the most effective and fun moments of the match. Sadly, the Marks and even the Lazy Smarks in the arena didn't buy the match. I challenge writers to address this situation of cruiserweights because they are as great wrestlers as the heavyweights if not better.

The New Day vs Cesaro-Sheamus:
The New Day are better at selling the disturbed relationship between Cesaro and Sheamus than Sheamaro themselves. Also, the New Day are building up their on-the-verge-of-diminishing Face value after their "ShameUs" tagline created last week. The WWE universe was treated with a great fun match. Cesaro especially copied Tye Dillinger's TEN during the match to complete Sheamus's ten hits. :) Rolling Swanton followed by double stomp was a nice team move by the Sheamaro. The over the rope jump, rope walk and long jump by Xavier Wood was also jaw-dropping. It was a perfect ending to the match for the feud to go on and a great win for Sheamaro. Writers broke the house again with such a nice combination of end segment. Looking forward to tomorrow's celebration.

Sasha vs Charlotte:
Charlotte blind-sightly attacked Sasha before even the match could have started. The cell came down too soon and the announcing table broke - perfectly executed by Charlotte without botching the move. The Mick Foley segment was quite expected, but to what extent, to extend the women could accept to execute, was what kept WWE universe glued to the match. The women took the match to a new height before the match even started. Sasha took some heavy falls onto the steel cage. The back-breaker on the chair was nicely executed. Charlotte was taking charge of the match for executing all the power moves. It just shows how much responsibility she was bestowed upon. Charlotte is a great leader for WWE women division. Notwithstanding of that, no credits can be taken from the Boss for her moves like Spiderwomen jump, continuous high impact double knees, the triple Suplex and the frog splash preceded by Eddie chants which fulfilled Sasha's tribute to the greatest Frog Splasher Eddie Guerrero. Chairs were used to their full potential and applauds to the Insiders who have created this segment of a chair under double knee stomp. The first table seemed to break before the actual move could be attempted. Nevertheless, the second table was kept on the ring unused for a long time building tension in the arena. The match was quite physical and painful. The second table never broke. But I believe, the writers may choose to use the table-breaking segment later this year in TLC. It's just a personal prediction. The match was great. The WWE universe was not quite vocal as expected, but don't let it fool you. The Boston crowd awe-struck. Just awe-struck. For all the Smarks and Marks, it was a match to remember.
