The night started with Goldberg chants. A strong and determined Goldberg walked down the ramp. As he started his words, he got interrupted when someone started with "Ladies and Gentlemen". What a beautiful start to the show Monday Night Raw. !! :D Rusev coming out from the back after the yesterday's power-packed match does indeed show that writers will keep playing the safe card of Rusev as the heel. It's fine, as long as Rusev gets to show his skills in the ring. I would say the Jackhammer from Goldberg was a little jagged, but the spear and the one who received the spear were perfect.
Gallows vs Enzo (Trick or Street Fight):
A nice little fun street fight with pumpkins all over. Enzo playing with his Halloween get up earns him applauds.
TJP vs Kendrick (Championship match):
The match started showing some good mic skills by Kendrick. This match was awesome with superb moves by TJP and the last move by TJP was both risky and crazy. The end segment of the match was awesome. TJP also put the knee bar on Kendrick finally and made Kendrick tap. The match obviously put the whole cruiserweight division on the front row for representing WWE, thanks for these experienced leaders as Kendrick and TJP.
Mick Foley's segment with JeriKO has always been fun... "The Key of Jericho" made even Foley smile on screen for which he has to cover his mouth. That was hilarious. Jericho is a great performer. Jericho challenging Roman for US championship and the match happening on the same day was a great stipulation.
Battle Royal (winner represents Team Raw in Survivor Series):
It was a good match. The result was expected. The match was enjoyable because of the beautiful chemistry of Sheamaro, nice cameo from Nevile, Sami Zayn's Ole Ole chants and Strowman's show of strength.
The New Day segment announcing themselves as the tag team captain for Survivor series with Woods in Boogeyman custom was amazing. The New Day have the best mic skills in the tag team division. I am really looking forward to how these tag teams will handle the 10-man survivor series match.
Cedric Alexander-LinceDorado-Rich Swann vs Toney Nese-Drew Gulak-Ariya Daivari:
It was a cool match with some jaw-dropping moments with Cedric and Lince jumping from the rope in sync, Rich Swann's final segment and Tony Nese's power moves. The match lacked Dulak's submission moves which I would have loved to see. I would really like the writer to use the ability of Gulak because he is indeed a power player on the mat.
Bayley vs Nia Jax:
This match was booked for creating a story for Bayley as the fighting struggling winner. Congratulations, writers. They are building Bayley's character slowly and steadily. The match had some nice moments when Bayley tried to give Nia belly-to-belly from the middle rope. The match was good for both the ladies.
Sheamaro vs Shining Stars:
Cesaro and the crowd called Sheamus as "Shame" during the match. It just shows how involved Cesaro is with the crowd and how meticulously they are building their chemistry. Looking at the Shining Stars, I feel that it would be great to get back Carlito to WWE and join the Shining Stars.
Roman Reigns vs Chris Jericho:
This match was nicely scripted and well-paced. I was expecting to see more involvement from KO in this match. Also, here again, writers played safe by not giving both the belts to JeriKO giving fuel to an expected rivalry between Jericho and Owens in the future for the belt. The respectful face-off between Roman and Rolins didn't give us much information about how their chemistry will come into play in the coming days. Perhaps, a Roman vs Rolin match can be stipulated in the upcoming days. Who knows.
The Raw teams (men's and women's) for Survivor Series containing more heels than faces shows that WWE is still trying to push Smackdown to the forefront. After the perfect execution of ground-shattering matches yesterday, one would expect that Smackdown viewer numbers may not be comparable with Raw anymore. But until Daniel Bryan keeps on talking smack, rest assured, Smarks will never get rid of their love for SD. :)
